Hot dogs roasting on an open fire
Sunburn peeling on your nose
Yuletide carols being sung to inspire
A drop in temperature, and so —
Everybody knows tornados and some heavy rain
Switch the seasons with a fight
Tiny spots with the radar aglow
Will make it hard to sleep tonight
We know a warning’s on its way
It’s bringing lots of hail and wind gusts on this day
And every mother’s child is gonna cry
When all the reindeer don’t want to stop by
And so I’m offering this simple phrase
To those in Mississippi, too
Although storms may come many times, many ways Mississippi pulls through
